A foreign-origin machine arrives at your bonded warehouse via truck, ocean, or air freight.
1.Log the arrival in Movement Log → + Log Receipt (Incoming)
2.Complete BWA Bonded Warehouse Admission form
3.Complete PE7533 Inward Cargo Manifest (CF-7533) with carrier/vessel details
4.If immediate delivery needed: PE3461 Entry/Immediate Delivery (CF-3461)
5.Run Customs Lookup to classify the HTS code and duty rates
6.Sign in any drivers/freight personnel in Visitor Log
Moving received merchandise from the dock into the bonded area or staging location.
1.Log as Internal Transfer in Movement Log
2.Update BWS Bonded Warehouse Status Log with current location
3.Required Per 19 CFR 19.12 — every internal movement must be recorded
CBP inspector, buyer, appraiser, contractor, or any non-employee enters the bonded area.
1.Sign them in via Visitor Log → + Sign In Visitor
2.Record: name, company, purpose, hosting KSC employee
3.Sign them out when they leave (click Sign Out in the log)
4.Max 10 No tour groups — 1–2 visitors at a time in the bonded area
5.Drivers who stay outside the bonded area do NOT need to be logged
Performing allowable manipulation (cleaning, testing, photographing) on bonded merchandise. No alteration of the goods.
1.Log as Internal Transfer or Receipt (if moving to a maintenance bay) in Movement Log
2.If outside contractors enter: sign in via Visitor Log
3.Update BWS status with notes on work performed
4.Important Only “manipulation” is allowed — cleaning, testing, repacking. No manufacturing or alteration.
Machine sold to a U.S. buyer. Duties become payable. Withdrawing from bond for domestic consumption.

7.Send packet to broker via Send Preliminary Data to Broker on Print Forms tab
8.Check ICF Import Compliance Filing for any export controls or sanctions
Physically loading the machine onto a truck for delivery after entry has been filed.
1.Log in Movement Log → + Log Withdrawal (Outgoing)
2.Complete PE6043 Delivery Ticket (CF-6043)
3.Sign in driver/carrier in Visitor Log
4.Required Entry must be filed BEFORE physical release from bonded area
Machine is sold to an overseas buyer and exported without entering U.S. commerce. No duties owed.
1.Complete ECC Export Compliance Checklist (verify no export restrictions)
2.Complete BWW Bonded Warehouse Withdrawal (mark as re-export)
3.Complete PE7512 Transportation Entry (CF-7512) for movement to port of export
4.Log outgoing in Movement Log
5.No duties Re-exports bypass duty payment — this is a key advantage of bonded warehousing
Machine is damaged, unsellable, or being scrapped. Must be done under CBP supervision.
1.CBP Required Request CBP supervision for destruction — you cannot scrap without it
2.Complete PE0300 Proprietor’s Submission (CF-300) requesting permission to destroy
3.Complete BWW Bonded Warehouse Withdrawal (mark as destruction)
4.Log in Movement Log with destruction details
5.Sign in CBP officer via Visitor Log for the supervised destruction
6.If scrap has residual value, duties may apply on the scrap value (reduced rate)
Moving merchandise to a different bonded facility without entering U.S. commerce.
1.Complete PE7512 Transportation Entry (CF-7512)
2.Complete BWW Bonded Warehouse Withdrawal (mark as transfer)
3.Log outgoing in Movement Log
4.No duties Merchandise stays in bond — receiving warehouse files BWA on their end
Annual inventory reconciliation required by CBP to verify all bonded merchandise is accounted for.
1.Complete BWR Annual Reconciliation Worksheet
2.Review all Movement Log entries for the year
3.Cross-reference BWS Status Log against physical inventory
4.Print Audit Log for the year as permanent record
5.5-Year Retention Per 19 CFR 163.4 — keep all records minimum 5 years
